Creative Brief
The client was a project manager for a Buddhist monastery in Taiwan. The mailroom managers needed an App for them to easily process the packages, contact the recipient, and be able to contact the monks they don't have access to phones. They also needed a backend system to be able to organize, and edit the information presented in the app, and upload and view information.
This project was given to me during my summer 2023 internship at B.O.X. Digital LTD. in Taiwan. I worked directly with my client, supervisor, and team members to create a mailroom website for a monastery to manage packages, notify the recipient, and backend revisions. I was tasked to use Figma to create an APP for inputting data and a backend software to manage and hold the data derived.

User Research
I attended and facilitated multiple conference calls with the monastery representative regarding the pain points that needed to be addressed. Then I generated 4 page layouts for this design.

Key Pain Points:
The monks needed to communicate to monks without phones
Needed to be able to efficiently notify recipients to pick up packages
Database to store everyone's information
The Problem
How were the Monk supposed to recieve notifications to retrieve the packages when they didn't have cell phones?

The Solution
The monks will have two coworkers as representatives to notify them of packages.
The monks will then retrieve the package & mailroom managers will be able to scan the package and change the status as recieved.

Key Tracking Features
Recipient Tracking:
Users can keep track of when packages are received and retrieved. Users can also notify users to retrieve their package that hasn't been retrieved.
Mail Tracking:
The app allows users to track mail and pay any packages that might need to be paid
Package Origin:
The app allows users to easily import data of the package and notify the recipient using a scanner app.
Users & Reports:
Users can easily access contact information for monks and members of the monastery.
Thematic Considerations

The brand identity was developed from the monastery the monks resided in.
I chose this color palette based on the company's notable monastery and the themes of Buddhism. I drew inspiration from the tranquil presence of the site, the exterior and interior architecture of the monastery, and the surrounding Buddha sculptures. Overall, the color palette reflects the colors and themes of the monastery to reflect the company's themes of Buddhism and enlightenment.
My app is geared for typically elderly monks so I utilized legible fonts in Chinese that were easy to read. Furthermore, there also weren't a lot of compatible fonts with Figma in Chinese.
